2025 Special Legislative Session<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From August 21st to August 26th, 2025, Colorado’s General Assembly had a Special Legislative Session. The purpose of this session was to deal with the statewide impact of HR1. You can read my newsletter on the special session here<\/a>. On Thursday, August 28th, Govenor Polis will be presenting possible cuts to the Joint Budget Committee based on the work we accomplished in the session. I will also be sending an update on the Special Session and the proposed cuts via my Newsletter on Friday.

Voluntary Do-Not-Sell Waiver Bill<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the last session I ran my Voluntary Do-Not-Sell Firearms Waiver<\/a> bill. I am happy to say that we passed it, however given the dire condition of our state budget, I need to fundraise for the implementation of my own bills. Here is the website<\/a> where you can donate to help this bill become a reality and save lives here in Colorado. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cathy’s Priorities:<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Public Education<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I continue to work hard to properly fund our public schools and address Colorado’s teacher shortage. My 7 years of service on the PSD school board informs my legislative work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Environment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I am committed to increasing our efforts to mitigate climate change and protect our environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Housing<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I support ensuring Colorado families have more options for affordable and attainable housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthcare<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I will continue to fight to improve access to affordable and accessible healthcare. To me, healthcare always includes behavioral and reproductive health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experience Matters<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s been an honor to serve in the Colorado House for the past six years, and I hope to have the opportunity to continue serving our community in the Colorado Senate<\/p>\n\n\n\n
