Session Overview
The 2026 session focused on lowering costs for Colorado families, protecting individual freedoms, and building safer, stronger communities. We worked to make housing and healthcare more affordable, grow good-paying jobs, strengthen the economy, improve education, expand clean energy and transit, protect consumers in a changing digital world, support victims of crime, and stand up for rural Colorado, agriculture, and the Colorado way of life.

HB26-1302 Colorado Bureau of Investigation Firearms InstaCheck Unit Operating Hours allows the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to set its own operating hours for processing background checks, instead of being required to stay open 12 hours every day except holidays.

HB26-1306 Wild Horse License Plate creates a wild horse special license plate that requires a $50 initial and $25 annual donation to the wild horse fund, plus standard taxes and fees.

HB26-1346 Transfer of Unsold Insurance Premium Tax Credits allows the Department of the Treasury to sell insurance premium tax credits that can be transferred once to insurance companies, with no further transfers allowed.
